Looking forward to a summer of great cycling but not sure where to go or how to get there?  With over 100 routes the Tyneside Vagabonds Club Rides Route Library is sure to have what you are looking for.  Put together from tried and tested routes ridden by club members, it provides an unrivalled source of out and back club riding routes to popular venues within a 40 mile radius of Ponteland, some routes that are a little further afield, and some designed for training purposes, as well as courses used for time trials and hill climb events.

Ranging between 30 and 100 miles, the club riding routes offer something for all types and abilities of rider and can be easily adapted to suit your personal needs.  The routes can be viewed on a computer, smartphone or tablet using any of several different map types.  They can also be downloaded to GPX or other formats for use out on the road.

The library is growing and dynamic so if you have any good routes that you think others would enjoy let Keith Aungiers know.

To access the library from the club website either:

- from the menu at the top of the screen select 'The Club' then scroll down to 'Club Rides' and across to 'Club Rides Route Library'

- or click on the red box 'Club Rides' to go to that section of the website where on the left you will see a link to 'Club Rides Route Library'

Following either of these will take you to the home screen of the Library at https://ridewithgps.com/users/400003.

This weekend, 22nd/23rd July, the club rides are undergoing something of a relaunch.

Over recent weeks 30 club members, who are amongst our most experienced club riders and who have volunteered to be ride leaders, have met and discussed how our club rides are run. We've put together all of the feedback we've been given from across the whole range of our club rides and hope this will make the club rides even more enjoyable and successful than they are now.

Easter 2015 16
I am planning a C ride 'special' to the Eden Valley starting from the Moot Hall in the centre of Brampton, Cumbria at 9:30 am on Sunday 25 September 2016. Brampton is situated about an hour's drive from Newcastle just off the A69. Free parking is available at the car park in Union Lane and surrounding streets.

This is not a ride suitable for beginners as the planned route is just over 50 miles and has around 3,000 feet of elevation gain.  The lanes around Brampton and the Eden Valley are quiet, scenic and somewhat hilly but the aim of this ride is to take in a different area at a moderate speed, so good group riding will be the order of the day.  Lunch will be at the Station CafĂ© at Langwathby and I am aiming to be back at Brampton by 3pm.

If you fancy coming along - or aren't sure or have any questions - please contact me via the forum, PM or Facebook.  Hope to see you at Brampton on Sunday 25th. Proposed route: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1172639617
