Mountain Time Trial 2016

The 61st edition of the Vagabonds Mountain Time Trial has attracted a record entry of 120 riders plus 8 reserves, including 7 women and 22 Vagabonds.  Six previous male winners of the MTT are entered, including Arthur Caygill (who won the event no less than 5 times during the 1970s and 1980s) and Richard Handley of One Pro Cycling (who recently featured strongly in the King of the Mountains competition at the Tour de Yorkshire).  One previous female winner of the MTT, Carol Westmorland, returns to the event for the first time in a few years.  In total 16 clubs / teams are represented by a team of 3 or more riders.

First rider is the club's own William Green, starting at 10.01am, and last rider to start is last year's winner, Danny Grieves of GS Metro who gets underway at noon.

Belsay First School, Belsay will be open from 9am. There is very limited parking at the school – additional parking is available in the lay-by near the start and surrounding lanes (Please respect access to houses). Numbers at the HQ – please return your number to the HQ afterwards.
