Race licences for 2015

Post by Gary Enever » Wed Dec 31, 2014 10:12 pm

Does anyone know if British Cycling have sent next seasons licences to the club, as Sophie's hadn't arrived, and she is racing in the Manchester track league on the 9th of January. Thanks.

Alan Holmes should know. They were always set up to be sent to the club and they would be sent to him if anyone.

Hi,
I am also having problems with British Cycling today. I am trying to enter some events for this year however the website won't let me! It appears that my race licence ran out yesterday and I need to renew it. Unfortunately, you need to ring up BC to do this and they are not open as it's New Year's Day.
Does this mean I can't enter any races until I can renew my licence?
Is there a way around this?
Thanks

I received a stack of licences in the Xmas post.
I sent them all out at the beginning of this week.
Adam, I am pretty sure your licence was amongst them. Hopefully you should have it tomorrow

Adam, it won't matter if Alan has your license or not. It would appear your membership hasn't been updated on British Cycling. Your license number doesn't change and if it is valid the website recognises this when you enter races.

Thanks everyone - sorted now.
I had to ring BC this am. The lady suggested that as his membership expires in February he cant enter races after that, even though we pay by DD and they obviously havent submitted it yet. Seems a bit of a glitch in the system if this is right.
However she has now renewed his membership till Feb 2016 and the problem is resolved.
Now we wait to see if he gets a place on the Junior National Series events - I`m told they are well oversubscribed.

Graeme - is Craig entering any of these?

Nick, I had thought about them, but the travel involved is ridiculous and entry seems to be a bit nepotistic. As far as I can see there are only three junior events. I know they get a bit of recognition from these, but I think I will keep entering him in to some of the bigger local events.

For more info on this. It would appear British Cycling have changed the style of the licence and this has caused a backlog in issuing them. Craig's ran out on 31st December and is renewed by direct debit. I have entered him into races later in the year and had no problem, which indicates the website recognises he has a valid licence.
